Have you ever had the thought cross your mind, “I wonder when it’s all going to go back to normal?” I found these very words floating through my consciousness unbidden the other day. Given the current state of affairs, I think it’s an excusable fantasy.
Because it is a fantasy, there never was any ‘normal’ for things to go back to, even if time reversal was a thing. (Time reversal is not a thing!)
So it's time to start thinking about the school year that lies ahead for our little darlings. How well do you remember your own school days? What are the things you remember most powerfully? Do you feel in touch with your own childhood? Does the remembering make you feel good or bad?
So here in the UK we say goodbye to one of the warmest and most clement Februarys on record - in stark contrast to the harsh conditions of last winter, when snow disruption occurred well into March.
Extreme weather is always notable. As such, it has the power to call to mind all the previous times in our lives when unusual climate or weather events have happened. It’s easier for us to access our own childhoods through these less than common events, than through the day to day occurrences.
