Nikky’s career began with making innovative and accessible dance theatre that helped change the landscape of the genre. She was the first UK choreographer to actively seek to attract family audiences to contemporary dance.
From theatre she then moved into children’s television, where her output included playing LaaLaa in the most far reaching children’s television programme of all time - Teletubbies - as well as choreographing shows that had children spontaneously up and moving from India to Indiana.
Over the years, she has honed a natural gift for working with and for children, becoming a skilled communicator (both verbally and non-verbally) and passionate advocate for the child. Whether writing, storytelling, creating and devising, moving, mentoring or just hanging out, Nikky has a playful ease with which children readily connect.
In over three decades as a performer, there has always been a parallel career as a teacher. Her experience is broad, from vocational training for future actors, dancers and educators, to using creative techniques to integrate refugee nursery attendees. From giving film workshops for youngsters with profound and multiple learning disabilities to inspiring primary pupils to invent, organise and hold their own Learning Olympics, she has a passionate drive to help children discover and develop their full potential.

Her reputation as an inspiring international conference speaker continues to grow year on year, with recent presentations including the Bett Show in London and the EU Presidency Conference on Cultural and Creative Crossovers in Riga, Latvia.
She also works as a regular contributor to several educational publications and her book "Create, Perform, Teach!" is published by Jessica Kingsley.
Nikky is also a practising Pilates instructor.
